🧡Deep Roots
Songs that shaped the sound of everything that came after.
This collection is where I come home.
These aren’t always the loudest songs or the ones with the biggest choruses—but they’re the ones that stay. The ones that sound new when I listen to them again. The ones that shape how I hear and play everything else. The ones I’ve fallen in love with.
Deep Roots is about influence, memory, and meaning.
Some of these songs are tied to specific moments—where I first heard them, who I was with, or what they helped me understand. Others have just always been there, like part of the musical landscape I grew up in. Over time, they’ve become part of my own language as a musician.
From Harry Connick, Jr. to Grateful Dead to Dolly Parton, this album leans into songs that invite you to listen a little closer—to the lyrics, the phrasing, the space between the notes. On the ukulele, those layers naturally come forward. Big arrangements become more intimate, and familiar melodies feel a little more exposed. That’s what I’m exploring here.
