đź’–Something to Say

Anthems of strength, joy, and unapologetic sparkle.

They don’t need to be louder, bigger, or more polished. They just arrive already formed—clear in what they mean and who they belong to.

This collection brings together songs written and performed by women who have something to say. Not all in the same way, and not always with the same volume, but with a kind of certainty that feels grounded. Some are bold. Some are pointed. Some are somewhere in between. All of them carry intention.

I’ve been thinking about that a lot this month—what it means to hold onto your voice. To decide where it goes. To know when to push, when to stay, and when to simply stand in what you’ve already said.

Songs like I Will Survive and Wrecking Ball feel declarative—strong in a way that doesn’t leave much room for doubt. Others, like Nothing Compares 2 U and The Joke, carry their weight differently. Slower, more internal, but no less certain.

And then there are songs that sit right in the middle—The Man, Don’t Start Now, All About That Bass—where confidence and commentary weave together. They don’t just express something personal; they reflect something cultural.

What connects all of them is a sense of ownership.

These are songs that weren’t written to ask permission. They were written because there was something that needed to be said.

Playing them on the ukulele shifts their shape a little. The arrangements are simpler, more exposed. There’s less room to hide behind production, which means the words—and the intent behind them—have to carry more of the weight.

That’s part of what I love about this project.

It creates space to sit inside these songs differently. To feel what holds them together, even when they come from different artists, genres, and decades.

This album doesn’t try to define what strength looks like.

It just lets it speak. đź’–
